Warstic Named the Official Bat of Area Code Baseball
DALLAS - (August 1, 2017) – Dallas-based Warstic today announces it has been named the Official Bat of Area Code Baseball. As part of the partnership, baseball’s best high school players will have the opportunity to use Warstic bats while being evaluated at the highest-level during the Area Code Games and the Area Code Instructional Series happening this fall. The Warstic Home Run Derby will take place during the five-day showcase, at 6:30 pm on Wednesday, Aug. 9 and will feature some of the nation’s best hitters using Warstic’s newest metal bat offerings.
"We are thrilled to be partnering with Warstic for the Area Code Games and the Area Code Instructional Series this coming fall,” said Joey Mahalic, Business Development for Area Code Baseball. “Warstic co-owners Ian Kinsler of the Detroit Tigers and musician Jack White, bring a one-of-a kind combination to the industry. Warstic’s commitment to innovation, performance, and design brings a dynamic dimension to Area Code that the athletes are going to love.”
For 30 years, Area Code Baseball has provided a world-class experience for the top high school baseball players from around the country. The event, which is free to all participants, is a staple in the evaluation process for MLB scouts and college coaches alike. Nearly 3,000 players compete nationwide for a chance to participate for their region in the Area Code Games in Long Beach, Calif.
"I’m excited we’re [Warstic] aligned with an event that has a long-standing history of bringing together the best high school players in one place,” said Detroit Tigers Ian Kinsler, who is also an owner of Warstic. “Our brand is for players who play with grit, heart, and individuality, so I think us being a partner with Area Code is huge for both us and the players chosen for this event.”
Warstic founder Ben Jenkins explains the importance of the partnership and how it aligns with the brand’s overall goals. “Working with Area Code is a good opportunity to spread the message to younger players that talent isn’t everything. It’s more about your mindset; how you approach life and your willingness to always keep learning something new is what makes you successful, on and off the field.”
